Leet Speak

Are you an e-leet coder?!?

In the English language, some characters resemble others, especially when certain fonts are used. A common password algorithm scheme that arose in the early days of the Internet was to replace a character in a phrase with its look-alike.

The resulting phrase was called 'leet speak.' It is not a secure password scheme by any means, but it's fun to see phrases undergoing a 'leet' transformation. Enter either an English or Leet message, and our app will convert it to the alternative language. Try it!

Wikipedia has a good description of the Leet phenomenon.

Programmer's Note:

This app is a spin-off improvement of our PHP app of the same name. This version allows two-way translation!

Feeling lazy?

When we were field testing our design, we got tired of having to manually enter in either English or Leet phrases. Therefore, we added a feature allowing an auto population of a fun phrase from Star Trek. Can you find those features?!
