SketchWave Star Demo

SWStar computes 2n vertices on every frame — alternating outer tips and inner valleys, first tip pointing straight up. Drawing modes:

• Sharp tips (Tip Rounding = 0): plain beginShape / vertex / endShape(CLOSE).
• Rounded tips (Tip Rounding > 0): quadratic-bezier chamfering applied only to the outer tip vertices; inner valleys remain sharp.

Independent Breathing

Unlike SWRegularPolygon (one sinusoid scales all vertices equally), SWStar drives two independent SWSinusoid objects:

• Outer breathing (B) — scales outerRadius: the tips pulse in and out.
• Inner breathing (N) — scales innerRadius: the valleys pulse in and out.
• Both breathing (T) — starts outer and inner together from phase 0. Use this for synchronized pulsing; tips and valleys still breathe at their own independent rates.

Because each sinusoid has its own period and phase, tips and valleys can breathe at completely different rates — creating an organic, layered animation. Set both to the same period for uniform pulsing.

How to Use This Demo

• Points: Drag from 2 (diamond) to 12.
• Outer / Inner Radius: Set starting tip reach and valley depth.
• Tip Rounding: 0 = sharp; >0 = chamfered bezier on the outer tips.
• Breathing: B = outer, N = inner, T = both together (synchronized start). Adjust period, min, and max scale for each independently.
• Spinning: S or Start Spinning.
• Visibility: C center · V tip dots · I inner dots · G grid.
• Drag: When animations are stopped, drag the center dot to reposition.
• Keyboard: Q quit all · R reset to defaults.
